Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety Outline

Professionals with a qualification in work health and safety (WHS) are always in demand as they ensure that the health, safety and wellbeing of people in their workplaces is maintained. The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) is a nationally recognised  course that will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful career in assessing, implementing and maintaining WHS in the workplace.

 You will also gain advanced skills which equip you to take on the role of:

  • Work Health and Safety Coordinator
  • Work Health and Safety Officer.

 

To complete this course you will need to complete 5 core and 5 elective units teaching you how to comply with workplace health and safety legislation, how to identify hazards, and how to assess and control workplace health and safety risks. You will also learn how to contribute to health and safety in the workplace environment, including aiding in the implementation of WHS strategies to control risks and emergency procedures. The Cert IV in WHS will help you to take that next step in your career, whether it is up-skilling for your existing workplace, or providing you a valuable qualification that could be utilised in a range of new employment opportunities.

Recognised Prior Learning

RPL is offered to any Learner who can provide evidence of competency for the units offered within the qualification. During the enrolment process a potential Learner may complete a checklist and discuss any prior evidence before commencing training to determine if they are eligible for RPL.
