Certificate III Government (Security)

  The security requirements of our Government departments are growing and changing each day. Certificate III Government (Security) - PSP30504 is a Nationally Accredited training package that offers a clear overview of the knowledge required to work autonomously and effectively within a security-driven role in the public sector. Often undertaken by students moving from the private security arena to a Government-based role, this qualification can also open career doors for existent Government staff. Certificate III Government (Security) - PSP30504 can lead to a range of fulfilling career prospects upon completion. Including, but not limited to: State Government Protective Officer Healthcare Protective Officer Courts Security Officer Government Security Policy Advisor Community Engagement Coordinator Injury and Workplace OHS Manager Security Human Resource Management Disaster Control Management Defence Security Officer Security Legislative and Research Officer Government Protective Security training and development coach Public Security Spokesperson Security Service Delivery Coordinator Hospital Protective Security Officer Aggressive Behaviour Management Officer (ABM)   The duration of your course is dependent upon the hours that you dedicate to your studies. This is a competency based course, however it is expected that on a full time basis you can complete one unit per week. This course may be delivered via distance using both online & paper resources, or in conjunction with workshops. Learning with Conwal & Associates allows you the freedom to study at home, during your lunch break, at work or anywhere. Our courses are designed to fit around your lifestyle. You, the student, decide the number of hours you want to study (and this will determine the length of your course). Due to the specialist nature of this course, you must be working within a Government organisation or have written approval from the Director of Government & Public Safety at Conwal & Associates to undertake this qualification. If you are not currently working in Government, you will be required to complete the core units in the Certificate III in Government (Security) qualification first allowing you to gain and appreciate the theoretical understanding of the Australian Government, legislation, departmental diversity and its processes. Once you have completed the core units you will then commence the elective Government Security units completing this exciting and dynamic career changing course. Completion of this course will involve specialist training, skills and knowledge. All non-Government applicants must ensure that they obtain a current National Police Clearance within 30 days of enrolment and forward a Justice of the Peace (JP) certified copy of the Police clearance to Conwal & Associates. Operational Officers and Government Staff can be assessed either by Recognition of Prior Learning, Recognition of Current Competency Assessment. Practical operational training workshop assessments may also be conducted upon approved from the director of Government & Public safety. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a Nationally Accredited and ISO certified Certificate III in Government (Security).

Certificate III in Investigative Services

  For those with more than just a passing interest in solving mysteries, life as a Private Investigator is guaranteed to rarely be dull. This Nationally Accredited Certificate III in Investigative Services offers you a specialist pathway into a career in factual and surveillance investigations. Upon successful completion candidates may apply for an unrestricted Private Investigations license (refer to course delivery below). Coursework covers: Undercover and covert Operations. Gathering information from various sources. Conducting criminal and civil record of interviews. Taking statements from witnesses and suspects. Understanding the operations and use of surveillance vehicles. Traffic accident reconstruction and court proceedings. Career Prospects Graduate investigators can be competently placed into insurance fraud companies, surveillance teams, and both Government and private investigations departments. In order for you to do this, you will need to complete a practical driving assessment activity. To do this, you will need two volunteers. One volunteer will sit with you in a vehicle and record/film a ten minute driving surveillance activity. The other volunteer with drive the vehicle that you will be following during this activity.   Hence, you must have access to: Two volunteers and vehicles. A video recorder or other recording device. Certificate III in Security Operations

  This is a nationally accredited course best suited to people who already have their security licence. The Certificate III in Security Operations will improve the knowledge and skills of Security Officers already working within the security industry. It does not meet licensing requirements. Career Prospects Upon successful completion of this course, you may gain employment in the following roles or fields: Security Officer (Unarmed). Crowd Controller. Body Guard. Cash-in-transit. Security surveillance monitoring. Parking Attendant. Operations Supervisor. Tactical security squad member. Security Intelligence Officer. Security Equipment Manager. Course Delivery Due to state Government requirements, this qualification is only available to those students who live in the following states: Queensland South Australia Tasmania Northern Territory This course is delivered 100% online. Licensing Requirements Please note: There are strict licensing conditions with regards to this security qualification. This qualification does not meet any licensing conditions -- Online Courses Australia offers this course as a higher level qualification for people who are already licensed as a Security Officer and/or those who simply require supervisor or higher level skills within the security field. If you require a Security Officer Licence you must complete the Certificate II in Security Operations. You must also ensure you visit your local licensing authority for the latest and most up to date information.   Recognition and Accreditation Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally accredited Certificate III in Security Operations.
